A UCSF research collaboration with GE Healthcare has produced the first results in humans of a new technology that promises to rapidly assess the presence and aggressiveness of prostate tumors in real time, by imaging the tumor's metabolism.
Microscopes provide valuable insights in the structure and dynamics of cells, in particular when the latter remain in their natural environment. However, this is very difficult especially for higher organisms. Researchers of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, Mainz, and the American National Institutes of Health (NIH) have now developed a new method to visualize cell structures of an eighth of a micrometer in size in living fish larvae.
The Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. (LFA) congratulates Insoo Kang, M.D., Associate Professor of Medicine, Yale University for being selected to receive a $1.2 million research grant from the U.S. Department of Defense's (DoD) Congressionally Directed Peer Reviewed Medical Research Program (PRMRP).
