Roche announced today the establishment of a strategic alliance with Diagnostic Laboratory Services of Aiea, Hawaii, that designates the company as a Roche Molecular Center of Excellence (MCOE) for the next five years.
Nicast, developer of medical devices made of electrospun nanofabric, announced today it is readying to launch the NovaMesh intra-abdominal hernia mesh in the European market in Q1 2010, pending European regulatory approval. NovaMesh is the first intra-abdominal hernia mesh to utilize the special properties of electrospun nanofabric.
The Guardian reports on a "major summit" to be held in London on July 11, which "aims to provide access to family planning to 120 million women at an estimated cost of $4 billion." According to the newspaper, the summit "is being organized by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the British government's department for international development (DFID)," and "between 20 and 25 countries are scheduled to attend, including the U.S., India, Ethiopia, Nigeria and Tanzania."
