The "Teen Longitudinal Assessment of Bariatric Surgery" study is funded by the National Institutes of Health and is being conducted at five sites in the U.S., including Nationwide Children's Hospital.
Scientists at The University of Nottingham have used a revolutionary new DNA-reading technology for a research project that could lead to correct genetic diagnosis for muscle-wasting diseases.
Genetic testing can be used to help personalize the therapeutic dosage of warfarin, a commonly-used anticoagulant, according to research published in the September 1, 2007, issue of Blood , the journal of the American Society of Hematology.
