FDA cleared on Toshiba's InfinixTM-i cardiovascular X-ray systems for use in pediatric and adult cardiac and abdominal procedures, the new technology is Toshiba's latest advancement in optimizing dose management to improve patient safety.
Like power lines in an electrical grid, long wiry projections that grow outward from neurons - structures known as axons - form interconnected communication networks that run from the brain to all parts of the body.
Scientists have developed a way to produce three-dimensional X-ray images of the breast at a radiation dose that is lower than the 2D radiography methods used in clinics today. The new method enables the production of 3D diagnostic computed tomography (CT) images with a spatial resolution 2-3 times higher than present hospital scanners, but with a radiation dose that is about 25 times lower.
