Orthovita, Inc., an orthobiologics and biosurgery company, announced today that it received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to market Vitoss BA Bimodal Bone Graft Substitute as a non-structural bone void filler for use in the extremities, pelvis and posterolateral spine.
Nearly two out of three patients have one or more precipitating factors that may contribute to hospital admissions nationwide for heart failure, according to a new UCLA study. Pneumonia, irregular heart beats, and obstructed blood flow to the heart are the most frequent factors.
New research suggests that at any given time, almost 10 percent of the emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics in the United States miss work because of injuries and illnesses they suffered on the job.
