When it comes to curing skin infected with the antibiotic-resistant bacterium MRSA, timely and proper wound cleaning and draining may be more important than the choice of antibiotic, according to a new Johns Hopkins Children's Center study. The work is published in the March issue of Pediatrics.
A team from the Centre for Automation and Robotics (CAR, UPM-CSIC) has developed a robotic exoskeleton that performs more efficiently rehabilitation therapies of patients with shoulder injuries. By using strength and motion sensors, the system assesses the degree of an injury and its evolution as the treatment progresses.
Aureus Pharma, a leading provider of knowledge management solutions to accelerate discovery in the life sciences industry, announces today it's participation in a EUR118.2 million (USD 160 million) project. The project is the Biointelligence R&D programme designed to promote the use of systemic modeling and simulation tools to exploit biomedical databases to improve research efficiency.
