The University of Massachusetts Lowell, in collaboration with AIDS United, and the Center for Innovation in Social Work & Health at Boston University's School of Social Work (BUSSW), have been tapped to lead a national, first-of-its-kind project to evaluate and disseminate bundled evidence-informed and trauma-informed interventions for Black women with HIV.
Maxim Pharmaceuticals has announced that based upon the negative outcome of it's confirmatory Phase 3 clinical trial (M0104) studying Ceplene(TM) (histamine dihydrochloride) in combination with Interleukin-2 (IL-2) in advanced malignant melanoma patients with liver metastases, it plans to close the treatment protocol approved by the FDA earlier this year.
In the first large trial of its kind in the United States, researchers have shown that estrogen-lowering drugs can shrink tumors and reduce mastectomy rates for patients with stage 2 or 3 breast cancer.
Women who had sufficient amounts of vitamin D were 32 percent less likely to develop fibroids than women with insufficient vitamin D, according to a study from researchers at the National Institutes of Health.
Louisiana Tech students Mridhula Thangaraj and Chris Monceaux will participate in a symposium on 'Regenerative Medicine - Wound Healing' at the 2010 Experimental Biology meeting, April 24-28 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
