Cancer researchers at The Peggy and Charles Stephenson Oklahoma Cancer Center have found a way to stop early stage pancreatic cancer in research models - a result that has far-reaching implications in chemoprevention for high-risk patients.
"The United Nations and its humanitarian partners on Wednesday appealed for $1.5 billion to assist civilians affected by the ongoing conflict in Syria over the next six months, including those inside the country as well as those taking refuge beyond its borders," the U.N. News Centre reports.
Researchers have uncovered the genetics behind what makes some people susceptible to Takayasu arteritis, a debilitating disease that can lead to poor circulation, easy tiredness in the legs and arms, organ damage and stroke.
Patients receiving deep brain stimulation are warned that their neurostimulators may dysfunction when confronted by electromagnetic fields that can be generated by particular electrical devices found at work, home, and in the hospital.
