According to a report released Tuesday this week, the number of emergency rooms has dropped by more than a quarter over the past two decades, while patient visits have kept rising. This has resulted in overcrowded ERs that can't provide optimal care for their patients, according to the new findings, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

Tim Dietlin has been appointed VP, Alliance Development to lead this effort on structuring alliance relationships based on joint strategic objectives rather than service level agreements.
Despite the potential for conflict of interest, virtually all practicing physicians in the U.S. have some form of relationship with pharmaceutical manufacturers but the nature and extent of those relationships vary, depending on the kind of practice, medical specialty, patient mix, and professional activities, reports a study in the April 26 issue of the New England Journal of Medicine.
HIV/AIDS experts from Ukraine and Canada attended a forum in Winnipeg, Canada, on Thursday to discuss the epidemic in the former Soviet state, the Winnipeg Free Press reports.
