Researchers at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine and the Allen Institute for Brain Science have published a study that gives clear and direct new evidence that autism begins during pregnancy.
IVAX Diagnostics, Inc., a fully integrated in vitro diagnostics company, announced that Diamedix Corporation, IVAX Diagnostics' wholly-owned subsidiary located in Miami, Florida, has signed a three-year agreement with Laboratory Supply Company, the largest privately held supplier of diagnostic instrumentation and clinical laboratory products to hospitals, physician office laboratories, reference labs and other non-acute care settings in the United States.
CPEX Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today announced that the ongoing Phase 2a clinical trial of Nasulin™, the Company's intranasal insulin candidate, has now completed enrollment. The study was initiated in February of this year and randomized 94 subjects. Results are expected at the end of the first quarter or beginning of the second quarter of 2010.
A study published in the June 2012 issue of the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry found that young children who have been investigated for maltreatment by child welfare agencies have a higher prevalence of mental health problems and that very few receive treatment for those problems.
When the human body becomes infected with new influenza viruses, the immune system rapidly activates an inborn protective mechanism to inhibit the intruding pathogen. A protein known as Mx plays an important role in this process, keeping the spread of viruses in check. Exactly how Mx accomplishes this task was previously unknown.
