A new study entitled The Economic Footprint of the Pharmaceutical Industry – Regional breakdown and differentiation between originators and generics, independently conducted by WifOR reveals how the pharmaceutical industry, one of the world's largest industries, plays a major role in boosting the global economy across regions.
For the first time, physician-scientists at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City have demonstrated in patients the ability of an antibody to directly target the blood supply of a wide variety of tumors, leaving healthy tissues unharmed.
In a recent medRxiv* preprint manuscript, researchers from Singapore and the United States report the development of a digital CRISPR method for the sensitive, specific, and rapid detection of viral nucleic acids at a constant temperature, which could be exploited for the detection of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).
