According to the latest report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the United States has had 118 measles cases so far this year, the most for this date since 1996, and close to 90% of them are linked to cases in other countries.
Children who are given high-quality education at an early age - starting at six weeks old and continuing through their first five years of life - are more likely to be employed full-time and have better relationships with their parents as adults, according to new results from a longitudinal study now entering its fifth decade.
HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius today will announce $159.1 million in grants to health care workforce training programs. These grants build on the multimillion dollar investments made under the Affordable Care Act and Recovery Act to strengthen and grow our primary care workforce.
