Arizona State University will host a premiere opportunity to engage and mingle with luminaries in the burgeoning field of evolutionary medicine, a new interdisciplinary approach that is becoming an essential perspective in our view of disease, today's medical practice and the worldwide impact on public health as it hosts the Inaugural International Society for Evolution, Medicine & Public Health Meeting, March 19-21, 2015 in Tempe, Arizona.
Coronary heart disease (CHD) is a leading cause of death for men in the U.S. Both cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) and the blood triglyceride/high-density lipoprotein ratio (TG:HDL ratio) are strong predictors of death from CHD. In the current issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings, two new studies highlight the importance of CRF on subsequent CVD and mortality risk.
A team of scientists at the Helmholtz Zentrum München shows changes in the immediate environment of DNA after the ovum and sperm fuse to form the zygote. The results suggest why all conceivable somatic cells can develop from the germ cells. The study has been published in the journal 'Genes and Development'.
Cell Therapeutics, Inc. today announced that The NASDAQ Stock Market has granted CTI an additional 180 days to regain compliance with NASDAQ's $1.00 minimum bid price rule under NASDAQ Marketplace Rule 5550(a)(2)). Previously, on May 3, 2010, CTI was notified by NASDAQ that CTI did not meet the minimum bid price rule required for continued listing and was provided until November 1, 2010 to achieve compliance.
