The Health Resources and Services Administration has announced $24.5 million in grants to support the work of 55 poison control centers across the country.
Using innovative technology, scientists from the Institut Pasteur and Inserm have filmed in vivo the process by which an AIDS vaccine candidate, developed by the French Vaccine Research Institute and the ANRS, triggers the immune response.
Writing in the May 28 issue of Cell, Johns Hopkins researchers report that four critical components of cells' protein-building machine don't do what scientists had long assumed.
The National Operating Committee on Standards for Athletic Equipment (NOCSAE) awarded $1.1 million in research grants to advance the science of sports medicine – specifically related to concussion.
