With people living longer and leading more-active lives, demands placed on medical equipment have grown. The medical wearable electronics market has evolved to provide patients with a more comfortable experience, while enabling them to be mobile and limit time spent in the hospital for treatment and maintenance.
This policy brief reports the findings of a systematic review conducted by the Community Health Innovations in Prevention for Seniors (CHIPS) project. ... Clinical preventive services such as colorectal cancer screening and pneumococcal immunization can help reduce rates of premature death and disability. Yet, many older adults are not receiving the full set of clinical preventive services that have been proven effective and are considered "high value" in terms of their costs per life saved. Rates are particularly low among racial and ethnic minority older adults compared to national goals.
3M Health Care today announced the launch of 3M™ Tegaderm™ I.V. Advanced Securement Dressing for patients, a comprehensive solution with transparent, breathable film, a stabilization border and new, comfort adhesive technology. The new dressing is perceived by clinicians to reduce catheter manipulation and resist staining which could lead to less frequent dressing changes, and may provide a cost savings option for hospitals.
