Researchers in the United States have conducted genetic correlation studies revealing novel traits associated with the development of severe coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
We know very little about the incidence of pain among the elderly in nursing homes. In Norway, no requirement is in place for pain to be assessed before or during nursing home admission, nor once a person has been admitted.
In a new study of terminally ill cancer patients, researchers at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute found that those who draw on religion to cope with their illness are more likely to receive intensive, life-prolonging medical care as death approaches –– treatment that often entails a lower quality of life in patients' final days.
