On May 21-23, 2012, Diversity Alliance for Science, Inc., a non-profit organization created to support, mentor, and develop minority-, woman-, veteran/service-disabled-, HUBZone-, and LGBT-owned, life sciences businesses, will host its fifth annual networking conference and EXPO event.
Small non-coding RNA molecules, called microRNAs (miRNAs), found and measured in the blood plasma of asymptomatic pregnant women may predict development of preeclampsia, a condition characterized by high blood pressure and abnormal kidney function that affects roughly 5 to 8 percent of all pregnancies.
In the Sept. 9, 2010 issue of Neuron, Neurogenetic Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NGP) reports proof of concept studies that show its proprietary compound, NGP 555, is effective in preventing the amyloid pathology of Alzheimer's disease (AD) in a transgenic mouse model.
The Fogarty Institute for Innovation announced today that it has launched its Advanced Endovascular Training Fellowship. This unique, year-long clinical training program for postgraduate physicians, which begins July 1, 2012, will provide Fellows with broad exposure to all aspects of endovascular patient care, with an emphasis on interventional training.
According to an American psychologist children's teasing is an 'essential' part of growing up and should not be seen as a form of bullying.
