A KAIST research team reported the development of a DNA vaccine for Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome Virus (SFTSV) which completely protects against lethal infection in ferrets.
Pulmonary hypertension (PH) sounds like an adult disease, but the life-threatening lung condition strikes children too. Ten-year-old Lucas Van Wormer is one of them.
Genzyme, a Sanofi company, today announced that it has begun shipping Fabrazyme (agalsidase beta) produced at its newly approved plant in Framingham, Massachusetts. As previously communicated, patients in the U.S. are now able to return to full dosing in March. In addition, all new patients in the U.S. are eligible to begin Fabrazyme treatment, at full dosing levels.
Agfa HealthCare announces today the availability of its newest Direct Radiography (DR) detector, the DX-D 35C, an 11x14 inch sized wireless panel which will be on display in booth #310 at AHRA 2013, the Association for Medical Imaging Management's Annual Meeting, July 28-31, 2013 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Men benefit from one-time screening for abdominal aortic aneurysms via ultrasound. Studies provide proof that their risk of dying is reduced, the abdominal aorta ruptures less often, and emergency surgery can be avoided more often. Far fewer data are available for women and they show no relevant differences between the groups investigated.
