Praxair, Inc. and Praxair Canada Inc. are notifying bulk and packaged industrial and medical gas customers in the United States and Canada of the following increases in product prices, facility fees/monthly basic charges and other items, effective September 1, 2010, or as contracts permit:
May 24−31, 2004, is Buckle Up America! Week. Buckle Up America is the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) campaign to promote safety belt and child safety seat use. Drivers and passengers can cut their risk of dying in a crash by half simply by buckling up.
In response to concerns from hospitals to prepare for eventual pandemic flu outbreaks, the French company AirInSpace, with support from ESA's Technology Transfer Programme, has successfully adapted technology developed to protect astronauts for use in critical care centres to protect immune-deficient patients against airborne pathogens such as the avian flu virus.
The two-day course is a didactic and hands-on introduction to LEAN management philosophy and manufacturing-based work rules and tools designed to prepare physicians, administrators, and technical support staff for the realities and potential successes of practicing in a LEAN environment. The sessions are not only oriented to laboratory medicine but also adapted to the processes encountered in clinical services as well.
Changing the way doctors practice medicine is difficult, however a new study has shown that combining traditional education with quality improvement and incentives improves Human Papilloma virus (HPV) vaccination rates in boys and girls. The study, which appears on-line in the journal Vaccine, has the potential to produce sustained improvements in these vaccination rates.
