Cancer is the second leading cause of death in New York State after heart disease among adults and the second cause of death among children after injuries. And the number of people diagnosed with the disease increases every year.
Cohen Veterans Bioscience, a non-profit research biotech advancing brain health solutions, today announces findings from a study which generates new evidence in support of a critical brain imaging biomarker, that may help guide people who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder or major depressive disorder towards the most effective treatment.
"President Obama signaled recently a major shift in the way the United States tries to help poor countries," Philip Stevens, policy director at the International Policy Network, writes in a Providence Journal opinion piece, adding, "Whereas the Bush presidency pushed to spend enormous sums on individual high-profile diseases such as AIDS, Obama says he will broaden U.S. aid to improve health more generally."
A drug formerly used to treat the skin disorder psoriasis has shown encouraging results in a phase 2 trial to assess its effectiveness in treating type 1 diabetes, according to new research published in The Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology.
