When people become stressed, their bodies can respond by sweating. Now, researchers at the University of Missouri are monitoring how much adolescents severely affected by autism sweat in order to better understand when behavioral issues, such as aggression, are likely to occur.
The Global Genes Project (www.globalgenesproject.org), today announced that its rare disease campaign slogan, "Hope – It's In Our Genes™," has been translated into multiple international languages and Braille by rare disease patient advocates and supporters from around the world. The translation of this slogan unifies the rare disease community and global network under one banner.
After three years of research, a multicenter, national research study led by Beaumont orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist, Joseph Guettler, M.D., may have some answers as to why youth baseball pitching injuries continue to rise despite the implementation of nationally recommended pitching limits.
The Tizard Centre at the University of Kent has been awarded a 350,000 euro grant by the European Commission to find out how many disabled people are still cared for in institutions across Europe and what would be the costs of replacing institutions with services in the community.
Aging-US published "The interplay between gray matter and white matter neurodegeneration in subjective cognitive decline" which reported that subjective cognitive complaints were assessed through 9 questions covering amnestic and non-amnestic cognitive domains. In these authors' cohorts, 123 individuals endorsed from one to six subjective cognitive complaints, while 102 individuals reported zero complaints.
