Recently, researchers investigated whether depressive symptoms might make it harder for older adults to perform their regular daily activities. Oncology drug developer, CanTx Inc., and its parent company, Novogen Ltd., today announced that they have named two key contract manufacturing organizations (CMOs) to produce clinical batches of the experimental anti-cancer drug, Cantrixil.
Down syndrome, the most common genetic form of intellectual disability, results from an extra copy of one chromosome. Although people with Down syndrome experience intellectual difficulties and other problems, scientists have had trouble identifying why that extra chromosome causes such widespread effects.
The first nine months of 2013 started off as a banner year for the Sackler family, owners of the pharmaceutical company that produces OxyContin, the addictive opioid pain medication. Purdue Pharma paid the family $400 million from its profits during that time, claims a lawsuit filed by the Massachusetts attorney general.
