A new study from the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center found that children born to obese mothers were more likely to develop cancer in early childhood.
The chronic inflammatory disease systemic lupus erythematosus, is about nine times more common in women than men, and a University of Houston researcher now has the money to find out why.
Forbius, a clinical stage company developing biotherapeutics targeting EGFR and TGF-β pathways, today announced that the first patient has been dosed in a Phase 2a trial evaluating the efficacy and safety of AVID100 in patients with squamous non-small cell lung cancer whose tumors overexpress epidermal growth factor receptor.
Cardiogenesis Corporation, today announced that it has submitted an IDE (Investigational Device Exemption) to the Food and Drug Administration to initiate a safety and feasibility trial for its PHOENIX System in patients with refractory angina. The PHOENIX handpiece is the first device specifically designed to allow physician-directed tissue stimulation and injections of biologic or pharmacologic agents to pre-determined areas of myocardium.
CANCER Research UK's Sporting Turn the Tables will return for the second time on Monday 18 January 2010, with legends from the world of sport putting some of the nation's favourite sports journalists in the hot seat.
