Patients with breast cancer who developed anemia during chemotherapy had nearly three times the risk of local recurrence as those who did not, according to a study published in the April 1 issue of Clinical Cancer Research¸ a journal of the American Association for Cancer Research.
A study published in the September 2016 issue of the Journal of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry found an association between maternal smoking during pregnancy and an increased risk for Tourette syndrome and other chronic tic disorders.
On the heels of the recent H1N1 pandemic, the International Centre for Infectious Diseases is providing online planning tools to help non-profit organizations develop pandemic flu plans. It is urging vigilance against future waves of the virus, and advises organizations to take action now to plan for events that could threaten the delivery of service to their clients.
