However, obtaining accurate measurements can be difficult and expensive, according to Steve Ball, University of Missouri Extension fitness specialist.
New research shows that U.S. safety net hospitals could benefit substantially from a new model that accounts for social risk factors like poverty and living in a disadvantaged neighborhood in determining how the federal government penalizes hospitals financially for their readmission rates.
With traumatic injuries claiming almost six million lives a year, improvements in care, including in the challenging areas of brain and bone injuries, and haemorrhage, are urgently needed.
The National Football League (NFL) will give a $1 million unrestricted gift to the Center for the Study of Traumatic Encephalopathy (CSTE) at Boston University School of Medicine to support the Center's research.
TomoTherapy Incorporated announced today that several clinical presentations at the American Society for Radiation Oncology's 51st ASTRO Annual Meeting - November 1-5, 2009 in Chicago - will showcase the use of the TomoTherapy® radiation therapy platform as a vital component in the combined modality approach to treating cancer.
