Even as governments across the United States consider lifting mask mandates and relaxing preventative measures as vaccination numbers creep up, new research from a UCLA-led team has found that such basic techniques significantly reduce the risk of getting COVID-19.
Researchers at UC San Diego and Creighton University have challenged the intake of vitamin D recommended by the National Academy of Sciences Institute of Medicine, stating that their Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for vitamin D underestimates the need by a factor of ten.
The MycetOS project was launched today by the University of Sydney, Erasmus MC, and the Drugs for Neglected Diseases initiative to use an Open Pharma approach to discover compounds that could lead to new treatments for patients suffering from fungal mycetoma (eumycetoma), a devastating disease for which current treatments are ineffective, expensive, and toxic.
PerkinElmer, Inc., a global leader focused on improving the health and safety of people and the environment, today announced that its Phenoptics™ quantitative pathology research system was an important component in skin cancer research published online in the April 19 edition of the New England Journal of Medicine.
