Neogenix Oncology, Inc. (Neogenix) announced today that the Johns Hopkins Hospital has initiated a Phase I trial with the company's first therapeutic antibody, NPC-1C, in patients with late stage pancreatic or colorectal cancer.
When it comes to the emergence of antimalarial drug resistance, it's not a question of 'if' but 'when'. In order to keep up with the quickly evolving Plasmodium parasite - the cause of malaria - new ways to treat and control the disease must be found.
If mice grow up in a stimulating environment, for example in large cages with running wheels and labyrinths with several other mice, their brain remains adaptable for longer, ie more plastic. In fact, not only these mice, but also their offspring, benefit from this enrichment.
