DiaTech Oncology has announced the filing of a patent for Drug Discovery that will provide a new strategy and approach to validate drugs that may be more effective in treating cancer patients
Luminetx®, a division of Christie Medical Holdings, Inc. and recently acquired by Christie Digital Systems USA, Inc., has signed an exclusive national sales distribution agreement with New Alliance of Independent Medical Distributors, Inc., DBA Alliance Medical. The agreement, effective last month, aligns the medical device company with Alliance Medical, the nation's largest consortium of specialty medical sales distribution companies for intravenous devices, with comprehensive access to the U.S. acute, oncology and home health markets.
A phase I clinical trial investigating the use of bacterial Clostridium novyi-NT spores as an injectable monotherapy had manageable toxicities and showed early clinical efficacy in patients with treatment-refractory solid tumor malignancies, according to data presented at the Fourth CRI-CIMT-EATI-AACR International Cancer Immunotherapy Conference: Translating Science into Survival, held Sept. 30-Oct. 3.
On June 28, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the first generic version of Effexor XR capsules (venlafaxine hydrochloride) to treat major depressive disorder.
Traditionally, scientists thought that star-shaped brain cells called astrocytes were steady, quiet supporters of their talkative, wire-like neighbors, called neurons. Now, an NIH study suggests that astrocytes may also have their say.
