A process that limits the number of times a cell divides works much differently than had been thought, opening the door to potential new anticancer therapies, researchers at UT Southwestern Medical Center report in the Aug. 7 issue of the journal Cell.
Ross University School of Medicine (RUSM) and Kern Medical Center (KMC) in Bakersfield, Calif. today announced a 10-year affiliation agreement to allocate, on an annual basis, a significant number of core clinical rotation slots to RUSM students.
New research finds foreign-born Hispanics now living in the United States appear to be less likely to have a stroke compared to non-Hispanic white people.
Ask the average person the street how the brain develops, and they'll likely tell you that the brain's wiring is built as newborns first begin to experience the world. With more experience, those connections are strengthened, and new branches are built as they learn and grow. A new study conducted in a Harvard lab, however, suggests that just the opposite is true.
A survey of physicians by Majestic Research found that Boston Scientific's March 15 decision to withdraw from the ICD market will have a meaningful long-term impact. Among surveyed electrophysiologists, 56% report the recent announcements and actions have negatively impacted their perceptions of the overall quality of Boston Scientific's ICD devices and 52% said that they would be less likely to use the company's devices in the future.
