The molecular profile of cancer stem cells that initiate metastatic colon tumors is significantly different from those responsible for primary tumors, according to new research from a team at Weill Cornell Medical College.
DURECT Corporation announced today that its licensee, King Pharmaceuticals, has begun a Phase IIb clinical trial to evaluate ELADUR™ (TRANSDUR™-Bupivacaine) for the treatment of chronic low back pain. ELADUR is an investigational transdermal drug patch intended to deliver bupivacaine for up to 3 days from a single application.
The food and drink we consume have to pass strict quality controls. Nevertheless, these measures are not always sufficient, given that sometimes certain foodstuffs can still give rise to food poisoning, most often caused by micro-organisms. The Salmonella bacterium is undoubtedly one of the best known of these.
ViroPharma Incorporated today announced that it has initiated an open-label, multi-dose Phase 2 study to evaluate the safety, and pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of subcutaneous versus intravenous administration of Cinryze (C1 esterase inhibitor [human)] in 24 adolescents and adult subjects with hereditary angioedema.
