Dendreon Corporation today announced the presentation of safety data from the integrated analysis of four randomized PROVENGE® (sipuleucel-T) clinical trials of an autologous cellular immunotherapy in prostate cancer at the 105th Annual Scientific Meeting of the American Urological Association (AUA) in San Francisco.
Emergency department overcrowding has been a major issue nationally for 20 years and continues to increase in severity. To address this issue, a pilot study has been launched at UC San Diego Health System's ED to use telemedicine as a way to help address crowding and decrease patient wait times.
Patients with sickle cell anemia (SCA) develop heart complications and nearly a quarter die a sudden death. Now, researchers have linked malfunctioning molecular pathways to specific heart anomalies in SCA that result from progressive fibrosis and result in sudden death.
In a Journal of Orthopedic Research study, scientists used 3D printing to repair bone in the joints of mini-pigs, an advance that may help to treat osteoarthritis in humans.
Qualcomm Incorporated, a leading developer and innovator of advanced wireless technologies, products and services, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to provide high-tech applications and smartphones that will contribute to improving the convenience and efficiency of the national health survey.
