A team of Georgia State scientists has received a two-year, $875,110 grant from the National Institute of Mental Health to further develop a tool to help psychiatrists treat mood disorders.
Protox Therapeutics Inc., a leader in the development of receptor targeted fusion proteins, today announced that two oral podium presentations on the company's lead candidate, PRX302, will be made at the 2010 Annual Meeting of the American Urological Association (AUA). These presentations will include six month data from the Phase 2b clinical study of PRX302 called TRIUMPH, in patients with moderate to severe benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Working with human breast cells, researchers at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center have shown how the inactivation of a single copy of the breast cancer gene BRCA1 leaves breast cells vulnerable to cancer by reducing their ability to repair DNA damage, causing genetic instability.
Illinois Gov. Rod R. Blagojevich today announced the state has awarded grants to local health departments totaling $2.3 million as part of this year's efforts to detect and control mosquitoes that carry the West Nile virus or other mosquito-borne diseases.
