Sentara Heart Hospital is leading the way in an innovative Atrial Fibrillation (AF) procedure for what is typically the most difficult to treat or persistent, forms of AF. This past week, surgeons and cardiologists at Sentara Heart Hospital were the first in the world to begin performing surgeries in the Dual Epicardial Endocardial Persistent Atrial Fibrillation (AF) Study (Staged DEEP) feasibility trial.
Following FDA approval for the US market in April, Mentor, leading global manufacturer of the highest quality breast implants is proud to announce the availability of the CPX4 Tissue Expander in the EMEA markets from June 12th 2013.
Consciousness remains one of the brain's biggest mysteries. We know very little about how it emerges from activity within the brain, but most neuroscientists agree consciousness is dynamic in nature.
Every year at The Montreal Children's Hospital of the McGill University Health Centre, we look to members of the community to help make Christmas special for the young children who are not well enough to go home for the holidays. This year was no exception. In an effort to make sure we had enough toys and goodies for Christmas Day, we made an urgent appeal to the public last week and asked Montrealers to pick up extra dollies, stuffed animals, games and trucks so that we might be able to distribute toys to each and every child.
The New Jersey Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee on Thursday voted 8-6 to approve a compromise version of a bill (S 494) that would establish a needle-exchange program in six cities and provide $10 million to drug treatment programs in the state, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
