QLT Inc. today announced results from a Phase II proof-of-concept clinical trial for the olopatadine punctal plug delivery system (O‑PPDS).
The Allen Institute for Brain Science is spearheading a landmark international effort to define and advance the state-of-the-art digital reconstruction and analysis of single neurons. The project launching today, called BigNeuron, aims to create reliable high-throughput and quantitative 3D reconstructions of the thousands of branches that make up individual neurons: a crucial step to ultimately understanding how the brain encodes information.
Critical Path Institute's (C-Path) Patient-Reported Outcome (PRO) Consortium announces that clinical study results using the Consortium's Diary for Irritable Bowel Syndrome Symptoms-Constipation (DIBSS-C) were recently included in the expanded label for the drug LINZESS® (linaclotide).
This new vaccine aims to overcome the problem of preexisting immunity to common vaccine vectors, which is thought to be a major problem in the developing world.
The advice from the British National Formulary (British Medical Association and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain) is that all drugs should be avoided if possible during the first three months – and only prescribed at all if the benefits to the mother outweigh the risk to the foetus.
