The H7N9 avian flu strain that emerged in China earlier this year has subsided for now, but it would be a mistake to be reassured by this apparent lull in infections. The virus has several highly unusual traits that paint a disquieting picture of a pathogen that may yet lead to a pandemic, according to lead scientists from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
Virginia Life Science Investments, LLC and other investors have completed a recapitalization and management restructuring of Cupron, Inc., a Delaware corporation established in 2001, with principal offices in Modi'in, Israel. The transaction provides significant new capital to support the continued growth and development of Cupron Inc.; as well as the formation and initial capitalization of an independent new entity, Cupron Medical Inc., a Delaware corporation with principal offices in Richmond, VA.
Data from a European multicenter (non-IND study) showing that patients with PI who switched to IgPro20 from previously available SCIg formulations achieved comparable IgG trough levels without dosage adjustment, resulting in significantly less administration volume. The data were presented at the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) Annual Meeting in New Orleans, US.
