That is why the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is launching We Keep Moving, a viewer-driven reality campaign that will capture these stories and perspectives through online videos that chronicle how people across the country keep moving forward while living with MS
Patients with Parkinson's disease are treated with levodopa, which is converted into dopamine, a neurotransmitter in the brain. In a study published on 18 January in the journal Nature Communications, scientists from the University of Groningen show that gut bacteria can metabolize levodopa into dopamine.
A recent study suggests that obese people with metabolic syndrome face an unexpected quandary when it comes to vitamin E - they need more than normal levels of the vitamin because their weight and other problems are causing increased oxidative stress, but those same problems actually cause their effective use of vitamin E to be reduced.
The Association of Rehabilitation Nurses (ARN) presented Kathleen Brewer-Smyth, PhD RN CRRN, with the 2013 ARN Doctorate-Prepared Researcher Role Award. Dr. Brewer-Smyth received her award at the 39th Annual ARN Educational Conference, held October 2-5 in Charlotte, NC.
