The drug RPL554 apparently has the potential to effectively treat the respiratory diseases but without many of the side-effects most currently available drugs produce.
Cardiac Science announced today that the Boston Public Schools will purchase Powerheart G5 automated external defibrillators to update and expand the district's AED program covering school buildings and school sports.
Nearly two decades ago, Dr. Jeffrey Cadeddu was watching TV when a lightbulb went off. The program showed teens using magnetic studs to avoid piercings in their lips, and Dr. Cadeddu, a surgeon, realized the same principal could be applied to his work, reducing the number of incisions and resultant scars.
A team of researchers at the MedUni Vienna's Institute of Medical Genetics has discovered that two genes (TSC/Tuberin and PRAS40) are extremely important regulators in the development of stem cells: if these genes are switched off, the stem cells do not develop but instead die a programmed cell death.
