University of Oregon biologists say they have opened the window on the natural process of bone regeneration in zebra fish, and that the insights they gained could be used to advance therapies for bone fractures and disease.
Experts at this year's Euroanaesthesia congress in Geneva (3-5 June) will discuss the unusual and challenging problem of how to perform emergency medical procedures during space missions.
The Institute for Safe Medication Practices has announced that this year's George DiDomizio Industry Award is being presented to Intelliject, Inc. for pioneering advances in drug/device combination products with the Auvi-Q epinephrine auto-injector (also known as Allerject™ in Canada). Auvi-Q is the first auto-injector with audio as well as visual cues for the emergency treatment of life-threatening allergic reactions.
Veeva Systems announced today that Daiichi Sankyo, one of the world's top 20 pharmaceutical companies, is replacing its legacy, on-premise Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system with Veeva CRM in the UK.
In a study, Identification of unrecognized diabetes and pre-diabetes in a dental setting, published in the July 2011 issue of the Journal of Dental Research, researchers at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine found that dental visits represented a chance to intervene in the diabetes epidemic by identifying individuals with diabetes or pre-diabetes who are unaware of their condition.
