Patients with chronic tendinosis of the Achilles tendon can experience a reduction in pain when injected with a small amount of a dextrose solution, according to a recent study conducted by researchers at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, BC.
In his Sunday talk show appearance, President Obama conceded that he has not been "breaking through" on the health care debate, the Chicago Tribune reports. "I think there have been times where I have said, 'I've got to step up my game in terms of talking to the American people about issues like health care,'" he said, after reporters asked whether he'd lost control of the debate.
In a new study published today in Annals of Surgical Oncology, clinicians worked with mathematicians to review data from 1973 to 2013 to conclude there was a time-dependent link between being diagnosed with diabetes and pancreatic cancer.
A new study has identified important factors that can improve the transfer of patients from the intensive care unit to a general hospital ward, a high-risk transition in which breakdowns in communication, medical errors and adverse events resulting in readmission can occur.
