Manhattan Scientifics announced today that the National Cancer Institute (NCI) has funded a grant for its Senior Scientific, LLC unit, for the use of its proprietary, highly precise magnetic cancer cell measurement in leukemia research for determining the progress of cancer treatment.
When a person has a brain injury due to a stroke or a trauma, they typically start in a hospital emergency room to treat any life threatening injuries. They are then often transferred to an inpatient rehabilitation program at the hospital where they receive intensive physical and cognitive therapy until they are well enough to transition home.
Sleeping more than nine hours a night, and sitting too much during the day could be a hazardous combination, particularly when added to a lack of exercise, according to new findings to emerge from the Sax Institute's 45 and Up Study.
The University Medical Center of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and Nagasaki University in Japan plan to cooperate more closely in the future. At the focus of the partnership funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) will be the joint development of a program of research into radiation epidemiology and radiation biology, the establishment of an exchange program for scientists and academics at the two universities, and, over the long term, the creation of a joint multicenter research project.
In keeping with the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine's (AIUM) overarching mission of advancing the safe and effective use of ultrasound in medicine through education, research and development of guidelines, the AIUM recognizes the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Policy Statement Emergency Ultrasound Guidelines as meeting the qualifications for performing ultrasound in the emergency setting.
