A study funded by the Atlanta-based Center for Behavioral Neuroscience (CBN) analyzed the viewing patterns of men and women looking at sexual photographs, and the result was not what one typically might expect.
Crux Biomedical® was named one of "50 Companies to Watch" in an annual survey of medical device and diagnostic companies. The survey, conducted by Medical Device and Diagnostics Industry (MD+DI), was published in its June 2010 issue. The purpose of the survey was to identify firms that have either achieved success or have the potential to revolutionize medical practice with their respective products.
In this Guardian opinion piece, the newspaper's health editor, Sarah Boseley, responds to the positive results of a large-scale clinical trial of an experimental malaria vaccine reported on Tuesday and recaps other strides made against the disease in recent years, writing that "there is a way to go yet, with more results from the trial to come, and many uncertainties, including how much this vaccine will cost and who will be persuaded to pay."
Keryx Biopharmaceuticals reported today the randomization of the last patient in its short-term study component of its Phase 3 registration program of Zerenex™ (ferric citrate), the Company's iron-based phosphate binder for the treatment of elevated serum phosphorous levels, or hyperphosphatemia, in patients with end-stage renal disease on dialysis.
