New research shows dramatically rising visits to emergency departments (ED) related to alcohol, especially for women, with a 175% increase in alcohol-related visits from young people aged 25 to 29.
Seven percent of adults and 19 percent of children taking chemotherapy drugs in outpatient clinics or at home were given the wrong dose or experienced other mistakes involving their medications, according to a new study supported in part by HHS' Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality through its Centers for Education and Research on Therapeutics program.
Sanofi-aventis and its wholly-owned subsidiary, BiPar Sciences, today announced that The New England Journal of Medicine published the final phase II data for the investigational drug iniparib demonstrating significant clinical benefit in women with metastatic triple negative breast cancer when iniparib was administered in combination with chemotherapy agents gemcitabine/carboplatin.
A potential new treatment for septic shock and other inflammatory diseases has been discovered by Monash Institute researchers.
