IMRIS Inc. (TSX: IM) ("IMRIS" or the "Company") today announced that Health Canada has issued a medical device licence for the Company's IMRX system permitting IMRIS to market its newest products, IMRISNV and IMRIScardio in Canada.
A new study published in Medical Care Research and Review found that the Affordable Care Act, which expanded Medicaid programs to cover people previously uninsured, provided a financial boost to hospitals.
Biothera began dosing patients today in a Phase III trial evaluating Imprime PGG in combination with cetuximab as a potential new treatment for recurrent or progressive KRAS wild-type colorectal cancer.
Although a goal of Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act was to provide Medicaid patients with a source of nonemergency care outside of hospital emergency departments (EDs), researchers suggest that these newly enrolled patients will likely continue to look to EDs for treatment of chronic diseases and other nonemergency issues, despite state attempts to impose fees on ED visits.
