On October 20, 2011 the American Board of Wound Medicine and Surgery (ABWMS) was established and incorporated in the State of Ohio. The new Board, according to the President and Chairman of the Board, Richard Simman, MD, FACS, CWS, FACCWS, was established because the time has come to recognize the physician practice of wound medicine and surgery.
Magnetic fluids are used in many different areas, including medicine, electronics, mechanical engineering, ecology, etc. Such a wide range of applications is explained by a number of its useful properties.
The Associated Press: "Federal agents arrested 26 suspects in three states Tuesday, including a doctor and nurses, in a major crackdown on Medicare fraud totaling $61 million in separate scams. Arrests in Miami, Brooklyn and Detroit included a Florida doctor accused of running a $40 million home health care scheme that falsely listed patients as blind diabetics so that he could bill for twice-daily nurse visits.
Neovasc Inc., a developer of novel technologies used to treat vascular disease, today presented results from the follow-up phase of the initial clinical trial of its Neovasc Reducer(TM) product at the American College of Cardiology 2010 annual meeting. The Neovasc Reducer is a novel implantable product designed to treat heart disease patients who suffer from refractory angina. The new data shows that three years after implantation of the Reducer, the majority of patients continued to show measurable improvement in angina symptoms.
"Global food prices again rose in the first quarter of 2012 on the back of higher oil prices, putting millions of people at risk of not having enough to eat," according to a report released Wednesday by the World Bank, Agence France-Presse reports.
