The New York Times reports that certain hospitals, including the Mayo Clinic, are lauded "for delivering high-quality care at low costs" based on "a widely cited analysis called the Dartmouth Atlas of Health Care."
Data demonstrating the effectiveness of KALBITOR (ecallantide) to treat hereditary angioedema (HAE) acute attacks by primary attack location were provided in an oral presentation yesterday at the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology 2010 Annual Meeting in New Orleans.
The most recent guidelines for primary prevention recommend aspirin use for individuals ages 40 to 70 years who are at higher risk of a first cardiovascular event, but not for those over 70. Yet, people over 70 are at increasingly higher risks of cardiovascular events than those under 70.
People eat more breakfast cereal, by weight, when flake size is reduced, according to Penn State researchers, who showed that when flakes are reduced by crushing, people pour a smaller volume of cereal into their bowls, but still take a greater amount by weight and calories.
