In commemoration of World Blood Donor Day, HHS Secretary Tommy G. Thompson launched "Donation Nation," a new program aimed at increasing blood donations among federal government employees to reduce chronic blood shortages in communities across the country.
The Vanderbilt Sports Concussion Center is now offering pre-concussion baseline testing to all community recreational athletes in advance of many high-impact seasonal sports resuming this fall.
Aberrant activation of the Hedgehog (Hh) pathway has been associated with numerous malignancies including basal cell carcinoma, medulloblastoma, and pancreatic cancer. These include naturally occurring asbestos and erionite - an asbestos-like material that occurs in sedimentary rocks of the western United States.
