Computed tomographic (CT) colonography allows the visualization of extracolonic organs, thereby permitting the detection of potentially significant pathologies beyond the colon.
Methamphetamine is a powerfully addictive drug that can seriously damage oral health, destroying a person's smile and natural ability to chew, according to the American Dental Association (ADA).
Life Technologies Corporation and OpGen, Inc., a commercial stage whole genome analysis company, today announced that they have signed a collaboration agreement to develop systems, technologies and applications intended to improve the management and surveillance of microbial outbreaks in the public health and infectious disease markets.
New data from the international FIELD Study Repeat presented today at the 15th World Congress of Cancers of the Skin (WCCS) in Edinburgh, Scotland, demonstrate initial treatment with Picato® (ingenol mebutate gel) 0.015% is efficacious in treating actinic keratoses (AK) and, when followed by a repeat cycle for persistent and newly emerging AKs, this efficacy is further increased.1 The data also confirm two treatment cycles of Picato® are well tolerated by patients.2
Existing practice surrounding many cardiovascular medications, including anti-hypertensive and lipid-lowering agents, is based on the evaluation of response to therapy. In cases where ideal therapeutic targets (which have been identified through several previous studies) are not met in the single individual, there is evidence to support the need to intensify standard treatment so as to achieve better control of the cardiovascular risk factor under treatment (e.g. blood pressure or cholesterol levels) as this translates into a better outcome.
