Bae, M.D., of The Spine Institute at Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California, will present an abstract entitled, Correlation of Early Pain and Long-Term Functional Results from a Multi-Center, Prospective, Randomized, Controlled FDA-IDE Vertebroplasty Trial,at the 25th Annual Meeting of the North American Spine Society (NASS) being held October 5-9, 2010 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
Scientists have uncovered new evidence that strengthens the link between a host-cell gene called Apobec3 and the production of neutralizing antibodies to retroviruses. Published in the Sept. 5 issue of Science, the finding adds a new dimension to the set of possible explanations for why most people who are infected with HIV do not make neutralizing antibodies that effectively fight the virus.
OPKO Health, Inc. today announced the publication of a study applying its novel library screening technology to identify a synthetic peptoid that binds to anti-Aquaporin 4 antibodies in the serum of patients with Neuromyelitis optica.
Lipid Sciences announced today that researchers have successfully used the Company's proprietary "selective delipidation" process to create a modified form of HDL ("good cholesterol") that is known to be more effective in reverse cholesterol transport, the body's natural process for removing lipids from arterial plaque.
