University of Cincinnati researchers have discovered new clues into why some people with head and neck cancer respond to immunotherapy, while others don't.
Study shows that a machine learning-based predictive model can be trained using telephone conversations to identify early signs of Alzheimer's disease.
Twelve outstanding students have been chosen as the newest participants in the Hartford Doctoral Fellows Program in Geriatric Social Work. The program is funded by the John A. Hartford Foundation, administered by The Gerontological Society of America, and directed by James Lubben, DSW, MPH.
Restoration of lost motor function after stroke is typically accomplished after strenuous rehabilitation therapy lasting for over months. However, new research published by a group led by Yukio Nishimura, the project leader of the Neural Prosthesis Project, Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Medical Science showed that an artificial neural connection (ANC) successfully allowed a new cortical site, previously unassociated with hand movements, to regain control of a paralyzed hand in a matter of minutes.
Dr Naia Uribe-Etxebarria has shown that it is viable to detect the ganglion through which a tumour attempts to spread, using a radiotracer, in a PhD defended at the University of the Basque Country.
