The Dean of the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Computing at London's Kingston University has received a prestigious prize recognising her lifetime's work on drug metabolism.
Select Medical Holdings Corporation, the parent of Select Medical Corporation, today announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire all of the issued and outstanding equity securities of Regency Hospital Company, L.L.C., an operator of long-term acute care hospitals, for approximately $210 million, including certain assumed liabilities. Regency is a portfolio company of Waud Capital Partners.
With the family beach vacation right around the corner, keeping children's skin safe under the hot, summer sun should be top of mind for every parent. Recently, doctors at Nationwide Children's Hospital have seen an increase in the incidence of skin cancer cases among children ages 5-16-years-old, and particularly among teenagers. In fact, melanoma - cancer of the skin's pigment elements - is now responsible for approximately one out of 10 cancer cases in adolescents ages 15-19-years-old.
"Knowing how to properly respond to an attack or a toxic industrial incident requires the best modeling tools and sensors available today, and these must all work in a coordinated fashion in real time," says NCAR project leader Scott Swerdlin.
